Board Meeting Minutes
A Board Meeting for the Fox Valley Chapter of the CPCU Society took place on 7/20/16 at 12:00 pm in the Pioneer Room at SECURA Insurance, 2401 S Memorial Drive, Appleton, WI 54915

Board members

Al Timm will not be continuing at end of term, will check with other Jewelers Mutual members about joining the Board

Still looking for member to fill Dan Kugler’s vacant Board position

Chad would like to step down as Secretary but willing to continue as Board member if needed

Goal is to have potential candidates by August board meeting

Chad will send out email to members asking for their consideration in filling a board member position

Financials

Current balance is adequate

Splitting cost of ad in Annual Meeting program to congratulate new designees with other WI chapters ($301.25)

Also consider publishing same ad in Big I magazine?

Discussion on ideas for September networking/social event

Tentative date of 9/14

Possibilities: Stone Cellar again, possible Green Bay location, Luau theme due to annual meeting in Hawaii, outdoor patio at Pullmans

Put bios in program vs introductions at event due to number of new designees

Discussion of possible speakers:Packer connection, John Bergstrom

Potential 2016-2017 meeting speakers/topics/presentations

In October, UW-Oshkosh will have a risk manager in residence

Discussion on possible joint meeting with UWO

Possibility of having UWO students present on millennials in the workplace

Need to confirm best date due to winter/spring breaks

Crystal Uebelher of SECURA has volunteered to speak on emerging issues

Possible January date as easier for local presenter due to winter travel concerns

Lisa working with contact at Schneider National on autonomous truck presentation

Other ideas included cat modeling presentation or Kevin Wondra from Society Insurance on branding/marketing

Tentatively booking dates of 1/18, 3/15, 5/17 for events, plus December date for Harbor House gift wrap TBD

Mentor program

Looking for a coordinator to identify candidates and help organize members to offer encouragement and support

Howard working with John Voss on potential CEO tour of area insurance companies to emphasize value of CPCU Society and ask for continued support

Next board meeting to be scheduled for mid to late August
